It's that time of year again, when magazines close their submissions for the holiday season. I can't blame them. It's time for merriness and slush piles aren't very merry.
But it does mean I'm not likely to have much to diary about till next year.
The time since my last entry has been interesting. I've started to see more personal rejections. And not the "lol n00b, call this writing?" types. Often they like the writing and/or premise, but not the characters, or the ending or something like that. I live in hope I'll find someone who likes all of it.
My goal for the holidays will be finishing some slightly longer stories. I could do with a few more around the 3000 word mark. I'm not sure how much time I'll get at Christmas, but I'll see how it goes. Until then, a bit of link love for some markets....
Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine - A speculative magazine based in Australia.
Allegory - A paying market for speculative fiction stories.
Goblin Fruit - Poetry of a fantastical nature. And possibly a gobliny and fruity nature, depending.
